Dear Friends,
I am writing to ask for your support.
As you may know, a group of people who disagreed with
the naming of a business district has started a recall campaign.
I am disappointed by their efforts but I assure you
that I take this recall campaign very seriously and I plan
to defeat it. I,
however, cannot wage an effective and winning campaign without
your financial support.
In 2005, you helped me win my seat on city
council and since that time, I have worked hard to make District
7 and the City of
San Jose, a better place to live, work,
and raise a family. Today, more than 700 families live in
newly developed affordable housing; over 1,000 people work
at The Plant, San
Jose's biggest shopping center on
Curtner Avenue
and Monterey Highway, and road improvements
have been made on
Senter Road and
Lucretia Avenue. Children play
in new neighborhood parks without fear of gang violence and
crime. Due to
your steadfast support, we have made San Jose a safer and
more vibrant community.
And, I hope to continue improving our beloved City
of San Jose
but I cannot do so without your financial support.
Therefore, I ask that you consider making
a contribution to my campaign. In this recall ballot measure,
there is no contribution
limit. Please consider donating $2,000, $1,000, $500,
$250, or any amount.

need to start right away. Please mail your contribution today.
